Elba Erasmus+ trainings by professors from the University of Santiago de Compostela

From June 6th to 9th 2022 the International University of Information Technologies hosted a seminar on data analysis as part of the Elba Erasmus+ project. The guests from Spain met with IITU Vice-Rectors Akkyz Mustafina and Nurzhan Duzbaev, where they discussed plans for the development of “Big Data Analysis” at IITU.

During the week, professors Anselmo Tomaz Fernandez Peña and David Enrigue Losada Carril from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, shared new technologies in big data analysis with faculty members, doctoral students, and master’s students of IITU.

A training on a relevant topic gathered 110 listeners. 80 people were online audience and 30 professors were practicing in Elba Lab at the IITU. According to the program, the training included both lecture part and practical sessions. In the morning, experts David Lozada and Tomaz Fernandez gave lectures. After the lunch break, practice commenced in the well-equipped laboratory. Speakers shared new developments in the application of big data analysis methods with lecturers.

Specially equipped with superpowered computers, software products, and multimedia equipment, the laboratory at the International University of Information Technologies was opened with funding from the European Commission as part of the Erasmus+ Elba project The laboratory has become a center for training teachers in big data analytics. In the future, the center plans to systematically improve the qualifications of Kazakh specialists in the analysis of big data.
